THE ADAPT LAB

Hello, I am Dr. Abi Sriharan. I am a management scholar, keynote speaker and strategist. My mission is to help organizations become more resilient during times of crisis. With the integration of AI in today's world, I am passionate about understanding its potential impact on work culture and developing innovative strategies to create thriving work environments where individuals find meaning in their work and organizations achieve their key performance goals.

I am a Senior Scientist and Research Director at the Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership in the Schulich School of Business and an adjunct professor who leads the ADAPT Lab. My research has earned me several prestigious awards, including recognition from the Global Alliance for Medical Education, the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Civic Engagement from the University of Oxford, and the esteemed President's Award from the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. In 2022, I was honoured as a Connaught Global Scholar for my transformative research on AI and the future of work within the health sector.
My expertise spans three crucial domains:
-
I specialize in guiding individuals and organizations through complex situations, empowering leaders to make critical decisions, inspire teams, and navigate uncertainty.
-
I study the intricate relationship between AI technologies and work, proposing strategies to harness AI's potential for improved work, recovery, and resilience reinforcement.
-
My research focuses on understanding root causes, consequences, and practical strategies to prevent and manage burnout, promoting holistic well-being and enhanced performance.
With over 20 years of experience in senior executive positions across the health, finance, and higher education sectors, I consult with management teams and boards of esteemed multinational agencies, including entities such as the World Health Organization, WONCA, PAFAMS, and World Federation of Neurology, on human capital strategy and talent management issues.
I earned an Honours BSc from the University of Toronto and my Master's and DPhil (Ph.D.) from the University of Oxford. My global experience, having grown up, lived, studied, and worked across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and North America, has given me a unique insight into people, performance, and culture. As an organizational research scholar, I use this insight to develop innovative strategies that help organizations survive and thrive amid uncertainty and technological advancements, fostering a more resilient and human-centred approach to managing crises and the evolving workplace.
